The Education Centers supported by the Adult Probation Department are equipped with personal computers at each site. Adult Basic Education (ABE), GED preparation, ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages), and Job-skills classes are taught. Maricopa County Adult Probation Department's Education Program is a community-based education program open to probationers and members of the community.

Thanks to online classes and virtual and remote support services, students have 24/7 access to 600+ online courses and 140+ online programs. Rio Salado has its physical headquarters in Tempe, Arizona. The college has several additional locations in the greater Phoenix area, including: Avondale, Buckeye, Downtown Phoenix, Luke Air Force Base, Northern Avenue, Queen Creek, Southern Avenue, South Mountain, Surprise and Thomas Avenue. Rio Salado College has been offering adult education classes since 1978 and is the largest provider in Arizona. Rio Salado College provides programming to help nontraditional students gain basic skills and literacy with a bridge to college and career. Students can learn the English language, prepare for GED® tests, get workforce preparation and employment skills training, take industry-specific workforce training classes, and get help transitioning to college.

Do you need help learning English or preparing for the GED exam? Their classes are designed to address the diverse educational needs of adult learners and offer small class instruction. They also have computer software, textbooks, and worksheets to complement your study plan. Late registration for spring classes is through January and they have continuous enrollment throughout the year. Please note that registration and enrollment is by appointment only.
